Recordings
Recorded work forms an important extension of Jack Calloway’s live practice, allowing performances, collaborations and original material to exist beyond the stage.
Jack undertakes recording projects as a performer, ensemble leader and composer, approaching recorded work with the same attention to narrative, balance and intent that defines his live performances. Whether contributing to an existing album, curating a recording project, or composing music for media, each recording is treated as a considered artistic collaboration rather than a by-product of live work.
Recording Roles & Projects
Jack is available to contribute to and lead a range of recording projects, working flexibly according to the needs of the artist, producer or organisation.

This includes an understanding of:
-
the balance between live performance and recorded capture
-
working effectively with recording and broadcast teams
-
adapting performance for microphones, cameras and mixed audiences
-
the long-term implications of recorded material

These projects are approached with care and professionalism, ensuring recordings accurately reflect the intent and quality of the live work.
In addition to performance-led recording work, Jack composes original music for recorded and picture-based media.

Composition projects may include:
-
film and television
-
radio plays and audio drama
-
games and interactive media
-
short-form and commissioned media projects

Composition is approached with a strong emphasis on narrative, pacing and atmosphere, ensuring music supports the story, image or context it accompanies rather than competing with it.

Projects may be delivered as fully realised scores or developed collaboratively with directors, producers or other creatives.
Recording, Credits & Usage
All recording projects are approached with clarity and mutual respect.

This typically includes:
-
agreement on role, credit and usage before recording
-
transparency around distribution, broadcast and reuse
-
respect for intellectual property and contributors
-
sensitivity to archival and future use of recorded material

This approach helps ensure recording projects run smoothly and remain positive collaborations for everyone involved.
