About Jack Calloway

Jack Calloway is a singer, bandleader, presenter and composer whose work centres on live performance, storytelling and character-led music.

Working across classic jazz, swing, cabaret and broadcast-led formats, Jack brings together musicianship, presentation and narrative to create performances that feel considered, engaging and distinctly human. Whether leading an ensemble, hosting an event, or composing for media, the focus is always on atmosphere, connection and intent.

A Practice Rooted In Performance

Jack’s work is grounded in live performance — not as a fixed product, but as a responsive exchange between performers, audience and space.

Over time, this has developed into a practice that moves fluidly between:

  • headline concerts and festivals

  • curated and ticketed live shows

  • cabaret and character-led performance

  • presenting and hosted events

  • broadcast, recording and composition for media

This flexibility allows each project to be shaped around its context, rather than forcing a single format into every situation.

The Role Of Storytelling

Storytelling sits at the heart of everything Jack does.

Whether spoken, sung or implied through music, narrative is used to give performances shape, pacing and meaning. This approach draws on the traditions of early jazz, cabaret and broadcast presentation, where personality and communication were as important as technical skill.

It is this emphasis on storytelling that allows Jack’s work to translate effectively across live stages, recorded media and screen-based projects.

Collaboration & Curation

Alongside performance, Jack is known for his role as a collaborator and curator.

This includes:

  • leading long-standing ensembles

  • assembling bespoke groups for specific projects

  • inviting and hosting visiting or international artists

  • shaping programmes, recordings and live events from the ground up

Each collaboration is approached with care for the wider artistic picture — ensuring the final result feels cohesive, intentional and respectful of everyone involved.

Recording, Broadcast & Composition

Jack’s live work naturally extends into recorded and broadcast contexts.

In addition to appearing on recordings and broadcasts as a performer and presenter, Jack composes original music for film, television, radio plays, games and other media projects. This work is approached with the same attention to narrative, pacing and atmosphere that defines his live performances.

Recording and broadcast projects are treated as long-term artefacts, not disposable content, with careful consideration given to usage, credit and context.

An Internal Outlook

Based in the UK and working internationally, Jack regularly collaborates with artists, venues and organisations across Europe and beyond.

Travel and adaptability are seen as integral to the work, allowing projects to respond to different cultural contexts while retaining a consistent artistic identity.

Working With Jack

Jack Calloway currently works independently and is not under exclusive representation.

All bookings and collaborations are handled directly, allowing clear communication and a flexible, hands-on approach when working with venues, promoters, festivals and collaborators. This applies both to Jack’s own work and to projects involving established ensembles and bespoke line-ups.

Alongside this, Jack remains open to conversations with professional management, talent agents and casting professionals where there is a shared understanding of direction, values and long-term development. Enquiries of this nature are welcomed and considered thoughtfully.

Whether working directly or in discussion with prospective representation, the focus remains the same: creating work that is well conceived, professionally delivered and suited to its audience.

If you’d like to discuss a performance, recording or creative project, you’re welcome to get in touch.
